FAQS

Is Panama safe?

As reported by Pinkerton Intelligence Agency, Panama is reported to be one of the safest countries in the world. But as you would in any country you travel or reside in, always take necessary precautions, such as don't leave valuable items unattended, don't travel alone at night in areas you do not know, etcetera.

Do I need a visa to visit Panama?

Citizens of most countries including the USA and Western Europe do not need a visa. A $5 tourist card can be purchased at the airline ticket counter on the day of departure for Panama. This tourist card allows you to stay for 30 days in Panama and is extendible for another 60 days. Citizens of most other countries need only their passport.

Can I use credit cards and travelers checks?

We recommend credit cards and ATM cards as they are widely accepted. Travelers checks are not as easy to use.

I don't speak Spanish. Will that be a problem in Panama?

English has become a second language for most Panamanians, and many speak it fluently, especially those who cater to tourists.

Can I drink the water? Do I need vaccinations?

There are no concerns regarding water and vaccinations at the Inn and Spa. If you plan on touring the country to visit jungles, however, the US CDC website recommends protection against malaria, yellow fever, typhoid and hepatitis A. It is safe to drink the tap water almost anywhere in Panama. If you have any concerns, bottled water is readily available and cheap.
